Do not cover active dampness, a loose finish, or unresolved wall movement. Prepare tools and a protected work area

Measure the Wall, Then Measure Every Panel Position

The first two steps are different. Measuring the wall creates the overall layout. Measuring a panel position gives the size of one cut piece.

Step 1: Measure and map the wall

Measure the wall width and height at several points. Check whether corners are square and whether the floor, ceiling, and nearby joinery are level and plumb. Mark doors, outlets, switches, thermostats, pipes, access panels, skirting, ceiling trims, and anything that must remain removable.

Draw the wall elevation and panel grid from those measurements. Choose a starting point that keeps the most visible lines straight and balances the cut panels at both ends. Avoid a narrow strip at an exposed edge when moving the grid can create a cleaner result. If the mirror shapes form a repeating design, lay several panels on the floor first and check how the pattern will cross joints and corners.

Mark one level horizontal reference line and one plumb vertical reference line on the wall. These are the installation datums. Do not rely on an uneven floor or ceiling. Give every panel position a label on the drawing and on removable wall tape so each cut piece returns to the correct place.

Cut the Mirror Acoustic Panels to the Marked Size

Cutting is step three. The correct blade, feed speed, support, and face orientation depend on the panel construction and cutting machine. Confirm them in the current instructions and make a trial cut.

Make and inspect a trial cut

Use an offcut or spare panel for the trial. The tool should produce a clean edge without chips, tears, separated layers, heat damage, or marks on the mirror finish. Support the panel across its full area and clear the cutting path of cables, dust, and finished pieces.

Mark the cut on the back if the tool instructions permit it. Use a straightedge or machine guide for a long visible edge. For notches and openings, follow any requirement for rounded internal corners or special edge treatment. Do not cut through decorative mirror pieces, embedded parts, or unknown layers without approval.

Dry-fit and label each cut piece

Apply adhesive only after measuring, cutting, and dry-fitting the panel. Adhesive cannot correct a distorted wall or an incorrectly sized panel.

Step 4: Prepare the contact surfaces

The wall and panel back must be clean and suitable for the selected adhesive. Remove dust and loose material without soaking the panel. If the adhesive requires a primer, use the approved primer and follow its drying time.

Confirm the adhesive’s open time, working time, application temperature, curing conditions, bead size, coverage pattern, and compatibility. “Nail-free” does not mean that one adhesive suits every panel backing, paint, plaster, masonry wall, humid room, or fire requirement. Use the approved batch and keep its technical information in the installation record.

Step 5: Apply adhesive in a controlled pattern

Place the panel face-down on a clean, protected surface. Apply nail-free adhesive to the back in the specified bead pattern. Keep it away from edges where squeezed adhesive could reach the decorative face or a visible joint. Apply extra adhesive around the perimeter only when the approved method requires it.

Support the panel while lifting so it does not bend. Align it with the reference lines and neighboring panel, place it against the wall, and press evenly as directed. Check the joint and reflected pattern before the adhesive grips. Do not slide the finished face against an installed panel.

Secure the Panels With a Power Drill and Screws

The installation sequence uses screws after adhesive. Drive mechanical fixings into the approved wall material or framing. Do not choose their number or position from panel size alone.

Step 6: Drill and fix without distorting the panel

Mark screw positions before applying adhesive when possible. Keep holes away from panel edges, decorative mirror areas, joints, and concealed services. Use the specified drill bit, screw, washer, plug, or anchor for the panel and wall. Pre-drill when required to prevent splitting, crushing, or surface pull-through.

Tighten each screw until it holds the panel without creating a dent or wave. Work across the panel in a balanced order and keep checking level and joint alignment. Install any concealed fixing, cap, trim, filler, or color treatment to match the approved sample. Do not use filler to hide a loose or overdriven screw.

The fixing schedule should list the screw type, material, head, diameter, length, anchor, spacing, edge distance, and wall substrate. On a large wall, complete one sample area first and keep it available until the architect, contractor, or client representative accepts the appearance and fixing detail.

Coordinate joints, corners, and service openings

Maintain the planned joint through each row. At inside and outside corners, use the approved cut, butt joint, return, or trim. Around outlets and access panels, keep required clearances and allow removal of covers; electrical work should be completed or made safe by the authorized trade.

Where panels meet skirting, ceilings, doors, or cabinetry, avoid forcing the panel against uneven finishes. A controlled perimeter detail looks straighter and provides room for the approved trim or seal where specified.

Finish the Wall and Check Every Panel

The final step is inspection. View the wall up close and from normal positions in the room. A reflective pattern can reveal different alignment problems as the viewer moves.

Check panel level, plumb, joints, pattern continuity, reflected lines, corners, perimeter gaps, screw finishes, adhesive squeeze-out, scratches, chips, surface contamination, loose edges, and movement around service openings.
